Place Vimy

Place Vimy is the name we call the area around our cenotaph.
We have small plaques on the posts that surround Place Vimy, which are in memory of friends and family who have served in the armed forces of not only Canada but also Great Britain, Australia and the USA.
We have 142 of them now and we began this in 2017 when we dedicated Place Vimy for the 100th Anniversary of that Battle.
Many men from Hudson were there, some were wounded and only one was killed.
Lance Corporal Ronald Barlow of the Victoria Rifles of Montréal died on the first day of the battle, April 9, 1917.
His name is the first on the list of the four plaques we have on the cenotaph.
We have two plaques honouring fallen comrades from Hudson in WW I and WW II, with 24 on each one and two other plaques honouring those who have fallen from the other 22 municipalities in Vaudreuil-Soulanges with 12 on each one and the names of the municipalities they came from.
We are the only Royal Canadian Legion Branch in Vaudreuil-Soulanges County, and we have the only cenotaph as well.

On Saturday, January 20th at the Hudson Legion Branch 115 a donation to the amount of $2,000.00 was made to the Hawkesbury and District Hospital Foundation.
Donation to the Canadian Service Dog Unit

Our Service Rep. and Sergeant-at-Arms, comrade Robin Pelletier travelled to Ottawa to donate $1,500.00 to the Canadian Service Dog Unit on behalf of our Legion Branch 115 and our Poppy Fund.
